Five for Silver

Another day with no break at all in the rain, and endless leaden skies. I didn't mind too much, though, as there's always plenty to get on with at home. Also, I had to wait in for some new lounge curtains to be delivered. They're really heavy and lined, so it'll be quite a job to hang them properly. They arrived too late in the afternoon to do it today, but that's okay because the forecast is not much better for tomorrow...

After taking delivery of the curtains, I sat down to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and gaze out of the window at the soggy countryside below. A cacophony of "chack" sounds started up and, sure enough, several Magpies were having a noisy parliament on top of the dead tree over in my garden. At first they each sat on a branch to themselves but, as I clicked away with the camera, they moved one by one until there were five of them chacking loudly at each other all bunched together on a single perch. And then, one by one, they flew away as quickly as they had come.
