A few weeks ago when LooseCanon's new car was but a few days old , I accidentally opened his ridiculously wide car door and with a mind of its own it ever so slightly touched the car next to it.
It was entirely due to being parked too close for me to get out , the width of the door and the stupid spring mechanism which jerked it uncontrollably out of my hand. It caused a microscopic paint chip and rendered it eternally blood brother with the tatty blue Datsun parked next to it. You need a magnifying glass to see any damage. Don't know what all the fuss was about. But LooseCanon was not a happy bunny. I'd go as far as to say he was distinctly tight lipped about it.
Anyway a couple of days later in another parking incident, a nasty kerb stone jumped out and bit his nice shiny new wheel trims and took a great lump of rubber out of his nice shiny new tyre. He got lots of sympathy at the garage. It's common with that car apparently. A mistake anyone could make. Definitely not his fault.
Anyway this is Steve the very nice chap who came out this morning and restored the wheel trims to pristine newness. L/C is driving very carefully now.
