Long Shadows

It's amazing that the snow around my way is lasting so long. But it has and I'm loving every minute of it.

Today's shot was taken in the local woods, a place where I take the dog (a Golden Lab called Steinbeck) almost on a daily basis. I remember coming up here on Xmas Eve, the first day that the snow had really taken a hold. Normally when I enter the woods my eyes are met with a 'canvas' of green and browns. But on this day (and the others since) all that met me was a blanket of white. A very odd sensation at first, and very surreal.
