Croatia (3) Korcula

Korcula is a walled medieval city, reputed to be the birthplace of Marco Polo , this being subject of some debate. We drank some very good Croatian wine on our way , visited Ston which is source of salt and has an impressive city wall and stopped for an oyster tasting on our return journey This blip is from the top of the bell tower of Korcula's cathedral . The small square tower in the centre beside the ruined building is said to be Marco Polo's home.
