Site of Haresceugh Castle

Or rather the remains of two main walls. A farm now occupies the site which is split by a minor road which is often cycled by avid coast to coasters (all red and sweaty) After reaching the top and Hartside cafe it's downhill all the way to Alston where they become happy little cyclists.

We returned from Hexham Hospital this way which is far preferable to the frightening A69 and it's tottering lorries - very pretty too. A definite East/West split for the weather today. Hexham in the East getting rain and we the sun.
