The Little Cathedral in the Vale
First, let me start by saying I passed my climbing course for beginners! I had to do various things while being observed, the most important of which was belaying correctly. So I am now a member of the Warehouse, which means I can climb there without an instructor (but with a partner), and I can take novices along, too.
As I hate practical exams (what with being dyspraxic, I tend to screw things up under scrutiny) this is an achievement to be celebrated. So I hired some angels....
CleanSteve and I went out earlier to view the church at Fretherne, which has been described as 'the little cathedral in the [Severn] vale'. We hadn't been there before, and it was indeed delightful. I took the 50D along, but was feeling tired and cold, so only took 21 pictures altogether before going back to the Olympus Tough. Now I wish I had taken more! I've even found that I can import from the 50D to the iPad with the iPad connection kit, so that is a huge bonus. CS has written more about the church here.
Afterwards we walked through buttercup fields to the river's edge, and along a high bank. We discovered a grand house with green shutters which made it look very French. The outlook was superb. Definitely one to buy, in my fantasies, and there is not even much risk of it flooding.
I haven't looked at the Tough pictures yet, but decided to put this blip up, later rather than never, because it's Tuesday now and I have to go and get my hair cut, and possibly go to the cinema because it's half term and I'm free!
