Corran Ferry

Top Tip! Now I have nothing against Fort William but people say that it isn't the prettiest town in Scotland. I have never been so can't comment.

So, if you are driving north towards Fort William but don't want to go through the town, you can cross to the west side of Loch Linne on the Corran Ferry. This takes you along a glorious single track road with splendid views across to Ben Nevis. You rejoin the main road north of FW.

The downside is that the 5 minute ferry ride costs £7.90. I reckon its a bargain but the locals complain that it's a rip off. Whichever, there is no question that it gets you a superb scenic drive.
