Hanging nest

Looking out of my kitchen window this morning I noticed a thin web hanging from the roof. A leaf had been caught and molded by a spider into this interesting "home."

My wife, who must be obeyed, does not take kindly to these harmless arthropods and demanded that a removal process should take place otherwise an invasion by its offspring may occur.
