Smile

His name is Maik. He reminds me of other Maik, not only because of name but also because both were in similar condition. I met him at Hasselbachplatz on weekend night and observed him for a couple of hours.

This guy was walking all the time and hardly stood at one place for more than a minute. He was drunk and fell down on the ground few times. It was obvious he was in pain. Yet he kept smiling all the time. This was a rare moment I caught when he wasn't smiling.

Maik tried to get attention of girls but in vain. No one liked him. He was kicked out of the beer shop even when he had money and wanted to buy beer. He wasn't even allowed to stand in front of the shop. Still smile didn't vanish from his face.

The shocking scene for me was when one girl spat on his face and said to him, "You are disgusting". Maik gave a BIG smile to her and replied, "You are hot".
