A wet late May Bank Holiday Monday (again)

Did things the wrong way around today. Worked in the morning and planned to go to the allotment in the afternoon. As it happened, the weather was kinder in the morning while I was slaving away over a hot computer and it poured in the afternoon when I could have been at the allotment. Susan said we should have taken the advantage of the better weather in the morning but I was keen to get the work done.

In between slaving over my hot computer I had to slave over Susan's new laptop too. For the second time in the two weeks she's had the machine a Windows Update had completely crashed the computer. A nasty error message said that the Windows Update had failed and it was reverting to the previous version. Do not switch off. The first time this happened I was given a solution which reinstalled the factory settings but lost all the applications I'd installed and all Susan's files. When I set up the computer after the factory reset I chose not to automatically update Windows. So what did it do, but automatically update Windows. I chose the don't update option again. We'll see what happens.

I've emailed the company that supplied the laptop but I will also be emailing the manufacturer as there's a clash here somewhere.

So the afternoon was spent catching up on websites and emails when it could have been far more profitably spent at the allotment. Even the walk was in the rain, but nothing stops this intrepid (mad) pair.
