Difficult
A difficult day. There are times when you can see the black dog coming; others on which you get ambushed just when you had convinced yourself you were doing OK. This weekend has fallen into the latter category.
One of the reasons why I started blipping was the discipline of trying to produce a photo one is willing to share on most days. And it was the need for a blip that got me out of the house late this afternoon, for a walk in a local wood in the pouring rain. Photography is therapy: I mainly use old manual prime lenses on digital bodies and focussing and metering help focus your mind and make you concentrate. Having said that there's quite a lot wrong with this picture: it's a bit soft and grainy and some of the lichens are out of focus. But t it was very dark and the rain was dribbling down my neck at the time. But it's something, at least. And I do like my lichens - there's quite a variety here on one small rotting fallen branch.
