Colourful
I'm still really struggling to get ACCURATE colours when photographing some of the superb pictures painted by local artist Ian Gray. I've never been very good at getting colour right in prints, but usually this is just a case of trying to get 'pleasing' colours, while when photographing artwork it is not just a case of whether it looks right when printed, but is also at least close to the original, which you can look at against the print! I use a calibrated monitor, printer, papers etc, do a manual white balance on the camera, and photograph the gray card and swatch, but I still find it very difficult to produce a print that is even close to the original, when comparing them side by side.
