Bamburgh Castle, Bamburgh, Northumberland

One of my favourite places. Views from the parapets are stunning whether eastwards out to sea and the Farne Islands, northwards to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, westwards to the Cheviot Hills or southwards along the beautiful Northumbrian coastline. The setting summer sun provides natural illumination to the crag and the castle masonry.
