Contours
One of the lovely things about conferences is that you sometimes get to visit great museums. This time it was the National Waterfront Museum at Swansea, which had all sorts of exhibits reflecting the working heritage of the area. As a Glaswegian, I noted that there were strong parallels with the working history of the two cities. The director of the museum, who was giving us a quick tour round the museum was pleased to inform me that the Swansea museum was visited by people from the new Transport Museum in Glasgow, to learn about how they showcased the people behind the exhibits.
I was very taken by this sculptured detail which covered some of the exhibits below, which was supposed to represent the contours of the land above the minerals that created the industries featured below.
