A rainy bank holiday

Well it kept threatening but today the rain finally came and its been drizzly and miserable all day. But we decided, despite the weather, we would take a trip out to Petworth House and use our National Trust membership. It was quite impressive really - all the artists work and paintings that adorn all the walls, as well as all the other antiques and historical artefacts. The chapel has been there since the 1600's and it always amazes me how well preserved things are and how intricate the detail is and the time it was produced. The blip photo is of the ceiling by the staircase - this kind of work adorned all the walls and ceiling of this part of the house and again amazes me, that the time it was produced - its the how they did!!! I love historical places and I like to imagine what life would of been like and imagine the hustle and bustle around places like the house kitchens for example.

All in all, despite the dank and horrible weather a pleasant day out.
