San Diego Marina

Early start with some emails and catching up on work. Went out to the Salk institute to talk to scientists about the journal and their research work. Very lovely place with great views of the ocean and amazing labs. It was very hot. unseasonably so, and the locals were worried about the fire risk in the hills and scrub areas where there's been no rain for a long time.

Ended up with a bit of free time in the afternoon and headed off for a walk towards the marina again and along the seafront. It was amazingly hot and bright and my first stop was to buy some cheap sunglasses.
