Gimme five
Managed to miss the Edinburgh Marathon this morning by implementing the cunning plan of not getting up until it had finished – although we still had to negotiate our way through lots of athletic looking people wrapped up in foil like oven-ready christmas turkeys.
We did manage to make our way through them to visit the Scottish National Portrait Gallery and have a look at the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait exhibition. Some really great and thought provoking images in there. Glad I saw it before it closes on Monday.
This image is of Baroness Kennedy of The Shaws – a low-relief ceramic sculpture by Glenys Barton and it sits surrounded by an all male supporting cast in the Library. Some of them look on rather disapprovingly at the female in their midst. Surely not...?
