Not quite a wildcat..

After the family gathering, we took a walk around Helensburgh... an interesting place. On the shores of the Clyde, so pretty dependent on Faslane and the Naval bases for employment & investment. On the shore front its bit of a rundown West coast of anywhere grey stone town... but up the hill behind the shops is an astonishing well planned 1850s - 1900's array of HUGE and elegant merchants houses (or palaces). Apparently the wealthy tobacco merchants build these lovely houses for their families, who came up for the summers on the Clyde steamers to get away from the smoke and dirt of Glasgow.

Looking in estate agents windows, you get ALOT of house & land fro your money - prices amazing if you're used to southern prices.
