Balgowan, Yorke Peninsula, South Australia
Today we visited Balgowan for the first time just 30 minutes from home. It is not a place of 'significance' rating just a few lines on Wikipedia which says "Balgowan is a small coastal town on the western side of South Australia's Yorke Peninsula. It is located approximately 20 Kilometres (12 miles) west of Maitland. Like other tourist towns on this peninsula, it has a large number of shacks and holiday houses, as well as caravan facilities and a boat ramp. The population generally increases during peak holiday periods. Balgowan's only shop is a general store. The Store is now closed (as at August 2011). Reopened late 2013".
It is no Gold Coast but, what a beautiful spot - peaceful, calm, inviting- certainly a nice place to return to in the future.
