Sark for lunch:-)

Lovely lovely day in Sark celebrating Ollie's brother&sister-in-law's 1 year wedding anniversary.

Family day trip featuring lunch at Stocks by the pool and a long walk.

On the boat back to Gsy, we sailed notably close to Brecqhou & therefore got a close up blip.

The Barclay Brothers, owners of Brecqhou & many properties & hotels in Sark (which is just a tiny fraction of their empire), have doubled their wealth by making 3 billion in the past year.

I was fortunate enough to have a tour of their private island 5 years ago and used to teach the butler's son.

The island is immaculate. I could write a novel about how self-sufficient the island is except for telecommunication and the precise design of their chapel, the immaculate gardens created from the once barren island and the way they operate their greenhouses to produce their own food, the village that their staff live in with its pub and the helipad, not to mention their visitor accommodation that has included many celebrities and politicians, like Maggie Thatcher, and only very close family are allowed in their castle that, unfortunately, I obviously have not entered.

Too tired to go on and on but thought it was worth a blip.
