Rooftops

of a historic village called Turckheim, home of my cousin and located in the middle of vineyards. I spent the weekend in their house, built in 1624, so I could catch up with them and meet some local winemakers as part of my little project.

We went on something called a 'maibummel', which is a 2.5 hr walk through the vineyards, accompanied by winemakers, with a stop half-way through to sample some of the local wines. That put the whole gaggle of 30 some participants in a very good mood ;)

Two more days and I'm heading back home to the States. Mixed feelings about that...
