The Gloucester Arms.
Clickychick too her Mum (FredaH) to church leaving Katkatkat and I pottering about doing some jobs. One thing that needed done was a run into town for a couple of things we had forgotten. I am learning by experience that it is best to get a shot or two in the camera early in case nothing else presents itself.
So using this knowledge I took a few shots of the Gloucester Arms. The pub is a 16th century coaching Inn built on to 15th century hall house. When I lived in Penrith over 30 years ago this was my local. The name is said to be because Richard Duke of Gloucester (later Richard III) is said to have stayed there when alterations were being made to Penrith castle a couple of hundred yards or so up the hill.
We finished the day with a BBQ for Katkatkat as living in a city with no garden she misses having fun in the garden. It was a little damp at times but we had put the "pop-up " over the fire pit so we stayed dry and comparatively snug.
An early start tomorrow as I have to get Kat to the station for a 7:50 train. It has been wonderful having her for a few days and she has helped move a number of jobs on greatly. Thank you Kat.
