We are going away tomorrow for a week. Come bedtime, I tried to offer Katie one of the stand in monkeys so I could get monkey washed ready for going away. She realised immediately. It took both alternate monkeys and cuddle jumper (a sunggly jumper of mine she's claimed) to make up for best monkey getting a holiday wash, along with promise I would get him dry.

A nice steady Sunday. Church this morning, with a lift from our friends. She had fun in Sunday school. We found out today she can join the Saturday youth club in a few weeks time, the modern version of crusaders- which I helped lead as a teenager.

After church we pottered at home. I have sewing to finish before our holiday, including a dress she needs for Tuesday! She had a play in the garden once the sun came out. Mid afternoon a friend text to say their little one was desperate for Katie to play so we went round. They played in the garden for ages, showed us their new extension and then the girls swapped mummies to show their brilliant reading of their latest books each.

We had a nice tea and long chat with grandad before bed. I have a photo of her in the case for our trip but her little face here won it for me!
