at home with an Ivysaurus

By MoGrant

'Mummy, are we happy with our gas provider?'

(It's a telephone in her hand, in case you can't tell. The old fashioned curved shape reciever, that doesn't reallt exist in the moden world of cordless phones- I wonder when children's toys (and direct line adverts) will catch up with the times.

Ivy is spending longer and longer just sort of sitting relaxed beside either Euan or I (often with a biscuit of bit of dried fruit). It's very nice- her head is partiullarly soft and fuzzy and nice to be next to now her hair is growing in at the back.

Spent all afternoon down the allotment. Ivy played in her travel cot, had a massive breastfeed and then slept strapped to Euan's back. We pulled of the old black membrane that's been over the middle part of allotment- found dozens of slugs, snails and one suprised looking toad. Let the toad go- crushed everything else. Dug over the earth, pulled out loads of weeds and then I built a plastic bottle wind break (or started too- i'm about 90 bottles off finishing it) to try and give the squash some protection. I'm very excited for squash other than butternut. Euan dug over and neighbouring empty plot as part of our communal activites. Also weeded the polytunnel. Came home completly starving so got a dine in for 2 for 10 deal from Tesco- Aubergine, lamb and filo pies. I can very much recommend them, I'm not too much of a fan of aubergine, so sneaked a big piece of mine to Ivy. Who enjoyed it till she couldn't chew the skin and got it stuck in her mouth. I think she too may not like aubergines anymore.

She slept ALL night last night, and didn't wake up till quarter to 7. Then when she played downstairs with Euan, she used her sign to tell him when she wanted to come up to me for milk.
