Assisting

Today's creative energy was spent assisting at the art class at Small Projects for Syria. After a late night, I couldn't muster the energy for my own work, but loved helping these 12 students make paper birds from paper plates and tissue paper. Each bird is carrying a wish or a message written on the blue paper. The kids each wrote their messages secretly, not wanting others to see. I told them they didn't need to worry as I don't read Arabic.
I love working with these kids conducting art class in a mixture of English, Turkish, and Arabic. Their energy and enthusiasm are infectious.
