Pleeeeeeeaaaaasee
I may have mentioned before that this little girl of ours wants a dog. Badly.
The pressure is now well and truly on.
Cousin Daisy's dog Doug is as cute as a button as you can see. And now I've had a text from my my Mum and Dad, well actually my brother; my Mum and Dad don't really use their phones 'cos they don't want to waste the battery. Anyhow they've acquired a rescue dog called Scout.
Alice's eyes are widening.
I am definitely weakening under pressure, especially as I've learnt that Doug Dog uses the cat flap. Maybe we could have a dog. Just a little one.
Not so little it's a rat though. I don't want a rat dog.
I'm mentioning this to you partly to see how it feels to discuss the matter in open company. Because at home I daren't speak of the thing that Alice wants more-than-anything-else-in-the-whole-wide-world until/if it's going to happen. 'Might' is not an option.
So why don't we get a dog? Well I'm not a dog person for a start - we never had one when I was growing up. I'm also not sure I want the responsibility of what amounts to another child (not quite but you know what I mean). Plus what do we do with it on holiday and what happens if I go back to work full time - we can't have a dog then can we? Though I have to admit the latter is highly unlikely, as I'm avoiding that scenario if at all possible.
It's a quandary for sure. Watch this space...
