We saw this wonderful play at the Lyceum, on it's last day. What a treat!
Beautifully written by David Haig, it's the story of the Scottish meteorologist, Group Captain James Stagg, son of a Dalkeith plumber, who must advise General Eisenhower on when to give the order to send thousands of waiting troops across the Channel in Operation Overlord.
The cast were excellent but David Haig and Malcolm Sinclair (as General Eisenhower) stood out for me.
I'm impressed with David Haig's writing, I really enjoyed his first play "My Boy Jack" too.
