Gates to Mentmore Towers

It was a lovely afternoon so we headed off to our annual visit to the Arts Festival in the village of Mentmore, Buckinghamshire.

We had a lovely time looking at the artworks and chatting to some of the artists and on the way back to the car passed the gates to Mentmore Towers, which must have once been stunning but are now badly in need of some TLC. The sun came out and made a feature of the peeling point and faded beauty of what must have once been the pride and joy of the craftsman who created them.
