Spirited racing

The boat in front - No4 - is a Rustler 24, a real gentleman's day boat, beautifully finished and serious money.
The one behind - No3 - is an East Coast One Design. There are only 10 of them in existence and were built pre-first world war.
The Rustler is 5-7 years old, the lady behind is over 100!
Shortly after this the ECOD with her reduced main managed to point closer to the wind and the Rustler, though faster, sagged off to leeward. The old lady weathered the final mark and won by 20 metres because the Rustler had to put a tack in.
They do say the most important go-faster attachment on a sailing boat is the lump of meat between the tiller and the main sheet.
