Painting of the blip

When we were on Skye a few weeks ago I blipped a picture of the Macleod Tables. I mentioned that on an earlier trip to Skye I had bought a painting from an artist and it has hung in our house every since. The artist is John Bathgate and we had just called in to his studio as part of one those Art Trails. I fell in love with the picture and bought it.

Whilst we were on Skye this time we were trying to find a similar scene to the painted one, but failed. I think I’m going to have to ask him when we go again! I didn’t dare visit his studio this time in case I found another painting and, looking now at his gallery, I think that would have been a dead cert!!

We now have heavy rain set in. I feel sorry for all those people arriving at the Lake District yesterday. I think Keswick will be a sea of cagoules. This morning in the village I helped two Pennine Way walkers find the right route. They were going a long way and will have got very, very wet.
