Hangar Queen...

Open Day at our local Model Flying Club, so we went along and L sat in the car and knitted and I indulged in some "Bloke Chat" with the other OAPs there. This stunning model was being assembled ready for a Show flight, lots of checking, but as it has a real Jet Turbine buried in there, there are a lot of Electronics involved. As a matter of fact the sheer cost of the model, all told about 6,000 €, Yes, true. Also it carries 7 litres of Avgas ( Kerosine) which gives it a safe flying time of about 6 minutes, all up weight is 23 Kilos. No toy !!
Sadly they kept getting warnings on the Tx Screen, and red lights flashing on the fuel Management boards, (A bit like Red Bulls Motors it seems) so no flight was risked, shame.but there were enough other less exotic models that did fly and I have made a date to go and fly a Dual Control Trainer, to see if I still can!
