Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

No laces?

I am tired of this weather. Very tired. Rain most of the day today. And cold. Archie doesn’t like going out in the rain and I don’t blame him. I have an umbrella.

He plays well on his own when I go back to bed at 5:30 -ish. But I don’t really sleep. If I can’t hear him, I worry what he’s doing. In fact, this morning he was quietly pulling off the draft proofing rubber strip on the door. I found a couple of feet of it outside, so I reckon he only ate about three feet of it before he decided it didn't taste that nice...

During a brief sunny spell I took a sudden energetic spurt and set to hacking apart the pallet in the front garden. Had to give up because it started raining again, but I was getting tired anyway - there are millions of nails and staples in it. I will need to get the crow bar out, if I can find it.

Decided to go out and get a photo of the aquilegias in the garden, gorgeously dripping with water droplets in the sudden hot sunshine that lasted about 10 minutes this afternoon. I put on my wellies as the grass is rather long, and Archie seemed very intrigued by them. No laces, but I bet he was thinking they’d be just lovely to chew on.

We now have thunder and lightening, and it’s as dark as anything. Did I mention that I’m tired of this weather?

We’ll tire him out and leave him in his crate this evening when we pop out for an hour or so. Not sure I’ll be able to relax though. Unless bubbly is involved...
