Today it emerged that he wants classics like To Kill a Mocking Bird, Of Mice and Men and The Crucible removed from the GCSE English Lit curriculum, replaced instead with more 'British' authors.

Still, kids raised on Dickens will at least be prepared for the life of drudgery and misery that his mob have in mind for most of us.
