The circus comes to town

The circus has set up shop on the green in front of us. I felt so sorry for them as they set up in squally rain. They'll stay through the Bank Holiday weekend and then be off elsewhere.

I've not been posting much as we've been in chaos at home. Last weekend we were doing some gentle furniture moving in the sitting room. We took some CD racks from the sea-facing wall and were shocked to find masses of mould behind plus bubbling of the paint on the wall. Obviously there have been problems with water ingress since the building works last year. There then ensued days of chaos. We couldn't clean anything up until our leaseholder had been up to see the problem, which he did Monday evening. We've been allowed to clean up the mould (after photos) but need to leave the bubbling paint to see if it gets worse. So we have pretty rings round the problem areas. So we ended up with CD racks laid down in the hall while we cleaned off the mould and treated it, then varnished the areas to prevent it coming through again. We were trying to downsize our book collection (which is quite excessive really). So we've had piles of books everywhere too as we try and agree on what we'll let go. Most of my PhD books are gone now but it feels like peeling off a layer of skin. It's gradually getting back into order. Oh, and I found my camera again yesterday! So hopefully I'm going to be back blipping regularly again.
