20 Miles

This is North St in StAndrews.
I took this photo from outside the New Picture House.

The New Picture House is 10 miles from my house. I walked there this morning. Then I walked home again.

My training took a bit of a battering this past week .... after my second 16 miler last Sunday I made an executive decision to have a rest week - lack of sleep and lots of exercise doesn't do much for one's mental or physical state .... so I was a bit apprehensive when I set off today.

But it was ok. Made the 10 miles in one go (because I forgot I hadn't stopped at 5 miles for a stretch LOL ) then met R at mile 11 for a banana, t-shirt change and a water refill.
I was aiming for a pitstop at mile 16 but had to stop at the top of the hill at mile 15 (it's not even a big hill but my legs just weren't having it) ... some Haribo, a few deep breaths and a bit of a stretch and I was off again.

Quick stop at the shop at Dairsie for more water (the lady was very impressed that I had walked 17 miles, with 3 to go) and the big push home.

20 miles. 5hrs 20mins. Lots of low cloud and a bit of a breeze, but no rain. Hot feet, but no blisters. Go me!
