Porcupine in a Tree

I prefer to blip birds, but I won't pass up mammals--especially such an unusual one as this. I can't remember the last time I saw a porcupine in the wild, and I had no idea that they could climb trees. He's at least 40 feet above ground, hardly moving, at camera level on a downslope from the road (14 meters/45 feet away according to the camera, through branches, on Mt. Holyoke).

Porcupines are found throughout much of the world. They are "rodents with a coat of sharp spines, or quills, that defend them from predators", according to Wikipedia.
