Did the coffee picker from Honduras ever imagine
That his photograph would grace the walls of Morrisons cafe?
His nervous smile
Half obscured by the branches.
Unsure whether to keep picking
Or give the photographer his full attention.
Would he have any concept of Morrisons cafe?
With the rows of packaged sandwiches
Baskets of cakes
And plastic numbers heralding fish and chips
And all day breakfasts.
Formica tables and
World weary eaters.
Does his coffee plantation have photos on the wall
Of nervous Scots drinking coffee?
Their nervous smiles half obscured by bland ceramic mugs
Unsure whether to keep drinking
Or give the photographer their full attention.
