Elephant feet

Apart from the track, the Herne Hill velodrome is in a pretty poor state. Portacabins, containers and temporary gazebos form the offices and stores. Pigeons inhabit the clubhouse.
Here is the original seating, that sit behind the newer and slightly less dilapidated stands.
The asphalt topping to the brick structure, is doing what it does after time, sagging and creasing like old skin. It has an elephantine appearance, as if the creatures have been herded into a pen and forced to lye on their backs and balance planks on the soles of their feet.
