Sketching

Flower heads of grass
Sketch gentle lines
And leave wispy tracery
As they catch the light
Flutter in the breeze
And echo colour.

I love Stipa tenuissima, Mexican feather grass, for the movement and lightness it brings when mixed in with herbaceous perennials such as the geraniums and erysimums here in my front garden. I'm pleased with the movement and stillness in this image and the colours of the grass against the purple blooms.
