Highland Wool Festival

I went with friends to this festival and for anyone who likes any kind of sewing or knitting it was a great day out.
I am home with lots of leaflets and business cards . I bought some lovely buttons and I loved the alpaca wool.
This gentleman is Rod Grant and he makes spinning wheels. This is an Orkney style wheel. When I was at College I did some traditional spinning and I would like to try it again. Goatee booknerd kindly made me a spindle which I have used on some fleece but I don't get it even or thin. Rod was a real expert. I watched him with the carders first then he sat down to spin.
