Today's Assignment: All about the shoes

This afternoon's uninspiring task was to grab a picture of the valedictorian from a local high school. Graduation time is right around the corner in these parts.

It didn't take long for the shoot to feel like an awkward high school dance. Arms askew and awkward body positions. I think we even started to sweat a bit.

After following a string of silly suggestions I had offered, we both began to laugh at the ridiculous of it all. We got to talking and I quickly learned the kid was an avid sneaker collector.

"As long as you get my shoes," he said.

To be totally honest, I was probably so focused with getting a mug shot-style image that I neglected to notice the bright high tops my subject was sporting. These things should have popped immediately, but sometimes I really need to have the obvious pointed out.
