Got my Garda declaration signed by the commissioner of the peace aka Charlie the butcher. Felt obliged to buy some rather nice looking beef steak while I was there. V good it was too, he rears his own cattle and we have a small slaughter house in the village, so all very local. It turned all autumny today and a beef, red pepper and paprika stew was just the thing this evening. Oonagh popped in to say hello and we pinned her down and feed her vast quantities of food (she's always feeding us on the spur of the moment) so good to get her back occasionally!
Just looked outside for the once in a lifetime cosmic firework display that's happening in the skies tonight....apparently. Grey missly dampness abounds, what a shame.
