A late lunch and a very hot day xxx

What a lovely sunny, hot day it was today....

We had Toddler Sense as usual at 9.30 and this week's theme was The Magic Roundabout, basically everything circular. I love the fact with Toddler Sense that every week you walk into the room to a completely different layout, with completely different ball pits, inflatables, and props and you never know what it will be like from one week to the next. Eva starts off a little tentative each week as we arrive, but within minutes, she is getting stuck in and really does enjoy herself. Today, as Eva is standing so much more now, she was even brave enough to climb up the soft play equipment and crawl across.

After Eva's sleep today, we went to meet some work colleagues, past and current, at Becketts, for a late lunch. Nat P had started the ball rolling with it and it was so lovely to catch up with her and meet little Joseph. Hayley was supposed to be coming with Bella, but couldn't make it in the end. There was Eva and I, Liza and Lorna, Nat Pettitt and Joseph, Nat Bonner, and Janet and her little granddaughter, Tiarna. We had a great catch up and Eva and Tiarna gave each other big cuddles and Eva and Joseph were giving each other big smiles. As usual, Eva got lots of fuss of everybody, especially Lorna, who she got lots of cuddles from and Lorna sat her on her lap and did crayoning with her. Eva had cod goujons, chips and peas, followed by jelly and icecream for her lunch. She didn't eat it all (well, she did eat all of her peas) but she had a good go.

Eva spent some lovely quality time with her Daddy when he got in from work. The pic on the bottom right shows such funny facial expressions as Eva and Mike read one of her books together.

It was such a warm night. Mike set up a fan in Eva's bedroom, but it was so hot in there. Mike had only put her in a vest to sleep in, but she couldn't settle. It was 10pm before she finally went to sleep tonight. Xxx
