Bugger, Bugger, Bollocks
Was proper enjoying the ride home too. Got to the mad busy roundabout and some nice lady stopped her car and waved me across. Pressed down hard on the pedal and everything on the back wheel crunched, clinked, clunked, slipped and I barely escaped face-planting in front of the Friday rush hour traffic. The whole rear cassette was just freewheeling, something inside the rear hub had given up the ghost, so it was off and pushing a mile and a bit until the back-up vehicle arrived and rescued me. Thankfully, St. Bernard like, Samantha arrived with a good supply of alcohol.
Home, bike shedded, cork out, straw in.
