harbour furniture

Quite a busy day. Not work - I think I'll work on Monday (a public/bank/local holiday of some kind) so took today off.

Went to see a flat first thing - right at Kirkcaldy Harbour. A real possibility. A real decision to be made over the weekend.

Had lunch with a friend in Edinburgh. Lovely lunch. The food was so-so and over priced. It isn't easy to get good vegetarian food - never mind vegan - in a restaurant even in a big city.

Good reason to cook myself (I'm not 100% non-meat - just 4-5 days in the week).

I was struggling for a Blip, so tried the harbour (Dysart, not Kirkcaldy - we have so many) as I'll usually find something going on in the harbour itself or out at sea.

This is a strange one. Street furniture is all the rage, of course. The harbour is not affected, but has its own. Ladders, chains, lifebuoys etc.

I'm not sure what this cast iron post was used for. Bit skinny for mooring ropes. Anyway, the can was on top of it before I came on the scene. I liked the contrast between the smooth modern lines of the aluminium can (symbolic of the age - it contained one of these caffeine drinks) and the ancient gnarled iron post.

I also saw a single wellington boot close by.
