A forest of Pignut

This neglected grassland caught my eye today in the grounds of the old Bridge house hotel along the canal side. It had a really summery feel although the weather was overcast but warm and it didn't rain. I like pignuts and spent hours as a child digging them out to eat the nut. They are difficult to dig out as the nut is so far down

I also tried this in Black and White which I quite liked so wasn't sure which one to choose for you.

I spent more time sorting the garden today but without much energy as I have been zapped by a head cold.
