Sign of the times

Inspired by Martin Parr in conversation last night I got out the ring flash.

Of course what you really need is a bright sunny day and f22 for a classic Parr shot and today was filthy, so Parr in spirit it is alone.

Martin told us he first looks for the cliches when arriving in a new country. Then he finds a twist or a sense of irony, creating a different meaning.

This is the grave of a child in Kensal Green Cemetery. It's not uncommon to see small statues of Jesus or the Virgin Mary adorning these memorials. It's the first time I have seen a Meerkat however.
