Our first visit here and I think we will have to visit again ( only a quick two day visit this time)
It is a beautiful city with so much history and atmosphere. We hired a private guide for two hours and hoped for a fun and interesting experience. The guide didn't bother to introduce himself and hurried us off to the first location without any preliminary overview. He was passionate about his city but was quite cynical about tourists, the Catholic Church, bankers, coach drivers, hotel operators, etc etc. He did have some interesting facts, but at the end of the two hours both my husband and I felt like two chastened school kids as our history was not up to scratch ....a very odd experience.
Still love the city though!
