This Way!

On Thursday afternoon we visited friends S, former editor of a Scottish newspaper, and his wife Jane, at their stately home on the outskirts of the village. They have quite a large piece of property, and are thoroughly enjoying the country life with their goats, pigeons, and chickens.

We arrived just in time for me to help S finish assembling an impressive new wood chipper. I told S I'll be calling him next time I need an extra hand in my workshop. He's a very energetic skilled DIY guy, and enjoys the challenges of maintaining and improving the house and property.

In the evening we went to the beautiful new home of blippers A (BrodieB) and L (5000vines). A's mother, P -- a spritely 87-year-old -- was visiting from Australia. She has lived in many countries and had some very interesting stories to tell. It was a privilege to enjoy an excellent meal in the company of four beautiful, charming, and intelligent women.

Cynthia has written a detailed account of the evening in her blip that I couldn't possibly improve on or add to, except to mention that I also enjoyed the company of Jonty, Kit, and Flynn. I think they were just as happy to meet me!
