Things that make me smile

Day Off

As is always the case on Polling Day, Amy and James's school is shut as it is a polling station. They love it, I find it slightly frustrating. There are several polling stations in Teddington and the one I have to go to, which is the library, is never busy. Why shut a school when there are other places people could go and vote?!

Anyway, James was very keen to start his half term homework ?! Yes you read that correctly... very keen!! The topic is tropical rainforests and he is going to make a mini rainforest in a shoebox. As part of it he wants to make small animals out of plasticine to go into it, so this afternoon we took a trip into Kingston to get the plasticine.

I also needed to go into John Lewis... this is where they spotted this really cool 1950's furniture. The table and chairs they are sitting at looked like they had come straight out of an American diner. Apparently, this is exactly the sort of furniture James is going to have in his house when he grows up!
